Honda has released details of its new European specification CR-V SUV. Set to hit UK roads from October, the latest generation model will be built at Honda ’s Swindon production facility and features a range of fuel efficiency improvements. Central to these efficiency gains is Honda ’s work in improving both its 2.0-litre i-VTEC and 2.2-litre i-DTEC engines. Although already seen on the existing CR-V, the new model will launch with highly modified and improved versions of these engines. Both engines see significant drops in CO2 emissions, with the diesel manual dropping from 171g/km to 153g/km and the petrol manual dropping from 192g/km to 174g/km. For the first time, the CR-V will also be available as a two-wheel drive petrol-powered SUV, and this drops CO2 emissions to 170g/km.
