Pope's given Vatican's first electric car by NWG Auto [w/video]

The Vatican City's about a fifth of a square mile in total, so it's not like range anxiety will be an issue. That's one upshot of the Pope recently being given the Vatican's first-ever electric vehicle. NWG Auto did the honors, donating Pope Benedict XVI an NWG Zero for what it says is his pro-environmentalist stance, the Catholic News Agency reported. The gift was accompanied with a blessing of the car and a prayer to St. Christopher, the patron saint of travelers, the publication said, citing Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi. The NWG Zero, which has a Vatican license plate, is estimated to cost about $2.50 to fully recharge.
