More fuel-efficient vehicles in #Japan causing decline in gasoline demand. Number of filling station halved since 1995.

It’s also been observed that as hybrid and fuel-efficient cars and trucks have proliferated in Japan, the number of filling stations has declined significantly. In fact the total of gasoline dispensing locations has almost halved since 1995, from 60,000 to just 38,000 last year, according to figures released by the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
