Fiat Punto slashes emissions

Fiat’s new Punto offers emissions as low as 90g/km CO2 and efficiency as strong as 80.7 mpg on a combined cycle, thanks to its use of the carmaker’s range of award-winning economical engines. Already on sale, the new Punto is available as a three or five door model and a choice of six engine options. There are two MultiAir 1.4 petrol engines, one with a turbo and one without. The petrol line-up is completed by conventional 1.2 and 1.4-litre units which use the latest variable valve timing to ensure they’re as economical as they are fun to drive. Finally there are a pair of MultiJet 2 diesels too. These put out 75 and 85hp with the latter engine benefiting from more new technology to emit just 90g/km CO2.
