A group of students have broken the speed for the fastest electric car on ice. Students from the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences took their electric sports car prototype to the frozen Lake Ukonjärvi in north of Finland where it was successfully piloted it to a top speed of 161.63 mph. Driven by Janne Laitinen, a test driver for Nokian Tyres, the electric sports car was driven for a kilometre in each direction. Janne achieved an average speed of 156.67 mph, taking under 6 minutes to complete the sprint.
