Bob Lutz gives up trying to convince the right they're wrong about the Chevy Volt

The problem with conservative punditry is that they only focus on the federal budget deficit, but they have no clue about the US trade deficit. Therefore, they don't see the problem with oil, and they often say dumb things like we are a net exporter of oil (we are a net exporter of gasoline). They also say dumb things like 50% of Americans don't pay federal tax (50% don't pay federal income tax, huge difference). In a larger sense, the US is on the skids b/c we use a toxic blend of conservatism and liberalism. For instance, we have the world's most wasteful entitlements, yet we do nothing to reform them b/c politicians crap their pants when they hear "FICA". Obamacare will only make matters worse. To boot, we have a Republican party that believes in free trade even when it doesn't make sense. They cede way to much power to the corporate plutocracy. The result is an impover...
