The Renault Megane collection for 2012 will be boosted by the introduction of three new Energy engines : a turbocharged, direct-injection Energy TCE 115di; the Energy dCi 130; and the Energy dCi 110. So what can we expect from the three engines? Energy TCE 115: This is the first Renault petrol engine that includes direct fuel injection and turbocharging to help boost its efficiency. It combines an integrated turbo manifold and double cam-phasing variable valve timing to ensure that maximum torque is made available at low engine speeds. With fuel injected directly into the combustion chamber, efficiency is optimised and the result is a boost in combustion and lower fuel consumption and emissions. Overall, it achieves peak torque up 40Nm to 190Nm with a stop-start system; and average fuel consumption is down 25 per cent compared to the 1.6litre 16V engine. It reports 44mpg w...
