Potential for Engine Crankcase Damage/Fire Manufacturer: Porsche 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 Report Receipt Date: Mar. 24, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V090000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 209 Summary: Porsche is recalling certain model year 2014 911 GT3 vehicles manufactured October 19, 2013, through January 16, 2014. In the affected vehicles, a piston connecting rod may come loose and damage the engine crankcase. Consequence: A damaged crankcase may allow engine oil to leak onto hot components in the engine bay which may result in a fire. Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will install a new engine with improved piston connecting rod connections, free of c...
