2012 Nissan Leaf expands availability as U.S. sales reach 7,000 units

Ine, I respect your thoughts on the Leaf/Volt comparison, and I agree that the idea of all electric, no gasoline, is an idea worth fighting for. I just think the BEV I want won't be built for 8 or 9 years and the Volt is the best I can expect in the short to medium term. I am a Realtor and I haven't had 5 people in my car for work or fun for a few years, so the lack of a 5th seat doesn't bother me, too much. I would rather have it, but I would rather be able to drive more than 80 miles without refueling, because I do that every 2 or 3 weeks. Hence, my admiration for the elegance of the Voltec tech. What Nissan and GM sell overseas doesn't really matter a great deal to me, I buy my cars here in the States. But I think I can see what the next iteration of the anti-Volt chorus will be. We went from 'It's vapor-ware!', to 'they are only building 300 a month!', and soon it will...
