Is sharing your fleet with members of the public really a good way to cut costs? The Green Piece column: @ZipcarUK

There nothing usual these days in signing your business up to use a car club but what if you are like Croydon Council and decide to share your new fleet with ordinary people as well as your employees? It well, sounds kind of crazy. As Croydon takes delivery of its new fleet of 23 vehicles ; the council will have exclusive access to them, just like a normal fleet, only unlike a normal fleet that exclusive access is only for a limited portion of the day. There must be some concern within the council that this might mean council vehicles being left in less than tip-top condition. But according to Zipcar there is really no need for such worry. “We ask all of our members to follow six simple rules when using Zipcar, to ensure that everyone enjoys using our vehicles and has a great driving experience each time,” says Andrew Edgar,...
