Report: White House lowers 2025 CAFE target to 54.5 mpg

I really can't understand why there is such resistance to fuel efficiency and sustainable transportation in this country, it really goes beyond the capacities of my thought. It's like people who buy $45,000 trucks to drive back and forth to their job in the city, because they think they're "helping" the U.S. economy...god forbid, that you realize all that extra gas you're ******* down is making you far less of a benefit to America than the guy who's driving a ten year old civic instead. Or kids who live within 5 miles of their high school job, but still need mommy and daddy to let them take the suv to work...taking a bike or the bus just wouldn't be as cool, right? You have to love families that buy a 7 passenger vehicle when they never plan to have more than one or two kids. But the market killed off the station wagon and a sedan just doesn't show off your status to the n...
