Because ag-gag laws aren't bad enough, YouTube removes videos of farm animal abuse #green

It seems the courts aren't the only place where footage of factory farms is being stifled . Just over a week ago I posted about a video of dairy calves being bludgeoned in the head with a pick axe . Now Tom Philpott over at Grist tweets that the video has been taken down from YouTube, has disappeared from his own excellent piece on dairy calf abuse , and low-and-behold, it's gone from mine too. Makers of the video Mercy for Animals have released a letter to YouTube arguing that the video is in keeping with the site's guidelines, and stating that it is still viewable on Vimeo. Sadly, on visiting their site this morning, it seems the Vimeo video "does not exist" anymore either.
