Failed Paris Olympic Bid Site Now a Booming Success as Eco-Friendly Urban Park: Many have been giving city-dwell...

Arriving from the urban jungle of Istanbul, the many neighborhood parks of Paris are literally a breath of fresh air, with their stately trees, colorful blossoms, duck-filled ponds, and contented strollers. Many have been giving city-dwellers a natural respite for hundreds of years, but one of the most impressive is just a few years old, a multi-use, super-eco-friendly green space that would likely not have existed had Paris won its bid for the 2012 Olympics . Bested by London for the honor of hosting the international games, Paris has transformed the would-be home of its Olympic Village in the Clichy-Batignolles area into the lively Parc Martin Luther King .
