Possible flash flooding in east Anglia & south east England tonight and tomorrow

Possible flooding in East Anglia and south east England 27-Jun-2011 The Environment Agency and Met Office are warning communities in parts of southern, central and eastern England of a risk of flash flooding today (Monday 27 June) and tomorrow. Although the weather has been dry and hot for many over the weekend, heavy and thundery showers are expected to develop through this afternoon and into the evening which could result in localised flooding. The risk of flooding from rivers remains low, however some local disruption may occur as between 25 and 50mm of rain could fall in some places. Environment Agency staff are on 24 hour alert and teams are monitoring river levels as the band of rain moves across the country. The public are encouraged to tune in to local media for weather forecasts for their area and to keep an eye out for signs of surface water flooding. Individuals...
