Three months after the Fukushima Daiichi accident in Japan, energy experts are moving past analyzing the accident itself and trying to divine what it means for the future of nuclear power. Three experts from Platts, the energy newsletter publishing company, suggested on Thursday that it might be minimal. The three spoke in a webinar sponsored by Westinghouse, the reactor manufacturer. There will certainly be an impact in Japan itself, where 14 new reactors were planned by 2030 but at most four will go forward, predicted Martin Daniel, the senior editor of the Platts newsletter Power in Asia. And, of course, at least four of the six reactors at Fukushima Daii...
