Ahead of today's vote on postponing the planned #fuelduty increase, we say use the money to help everyone access jobs

Fuel duty postponement would harm our economic recovery Issued on: Sunday 11 November, 2012 As the Labour Party is set to call for a Commons vote on postponing the planned 3p increase in fuel duty set for 1 January, transport charity Sustrans has said the move would deepen transport poverty – already felt by 35 million in England – and stunt the country's economic recovery. With two-thirds of jobseekers without access to a car, and decreasing numbers of young people taking their driving test, cutting fuel duty will do little to help these people back into work. Joe Williams, Policy Advisor from Sustrans said, "Long-term and youth unemployment remain stubbornly high, threatening our economic recovery and risking consigning a future generation to a life without work.
