I had acute anxiety attacks for years and was given many different pharmaceutical drugs, such as Paxil and Prosac and several others, all of which had terrible side effecs and also did not work. Eventually I learned about St. John's Wort, which I tried and I found that the St. John's Wort worked wonderfully well for me for acute anxiety attacks, with no side effects at all. It takes 4 weeks or so of taking it before enough builds up in your system to work at it's best, but for me gradually over those 4 weeks the attacks became fewer and less intense until by week 4 they stopped completely. When I decided to go off the St John's Wort after several years with no bad side effects at all I had to gradually reduce the dose over 4 weeks to safely wean off of them.
