Skipping showers: the green thing to do, or just plain gross? @grist's @askumbra has the answer

One statement in your reply got my attention. "Fossil fuel used to heat the water for a shower". First of all Grist is supposedly based in Seattle in the heart of the PNW. In case you city people haven't heard much of the electrical power there comes from Hydro-electric power dams - no fossil fuel is involved. Secondly many people are switching to solar heated hot water systems. Again no fossil fuel involved. Even in rainy Seattle you can find people who are switching to solar photovoltaic systems again no fossil fuel involved. In Sumas WA there is a power generating station burning natural gas; No coal involved and part of that natural gas is generated from a manure digester generating methane ( another words for natural gas) not from drilled gas wells. I am getting sick and tired of this bogus propaganda that we all are responsible for 'fossil fuel' burning every time we...
