Marijuana Is Funding Bullying Prevention Efforts in Colorado Schools

Colorado has announced that it will be putting tax revenue from marijuana sales to great use by funneling funds into bullying prevention initiatives in state schools. Colorado’s marijuana legalization came into force in January of 2014, allowing access to medical marijuana and limited recreational use. Since that time, the state has reported a large cash injection from this decision. Marijuana sales reportedly reached a high of $117.4 million in June of 2016. The related tax revenue created by this surge of legal marijuana sales soon prompted an important question for Colorado residents: What should be done with the resulting income?
