"You know what I'd rather have them do -- this will make my Republican friends puke -- as gas is going to go down here now, we ought to just slap a 50-cent or a dollar tax on a gallon of gas." These are the words of GM CEO Dan Akerson, who has now joined Ford's Bill Ford and Alan Mullaly in calling for higher gas taxes in the US, something that a GM CEO wouldn't have said even in an empty room a few years ago.
