On Our Radar: A Dust Storm in Oklahoma

Associated Press Rescue workers in Kay County, Okla., extricated a woman from a vehicle on Interstate 35 on Thursday. It was one of 12 accidents involving 27 vehicles during massive dust storms that swept through the area. In a reminder of the Dust Bowl days, a reddish brown wind storm shuts down Interstate 35 in far northern Oklahoma. The area has suffered through an extended drought, and farmers had recently loosened the soil while preparing for the winter wheat season. [Associated Press] The Coast Guard confirms that oil in a slick discovered in the Gulf of Mexico is seeping from a 100-ton device that BP used weeks after the Deepwater Horizon spill in a failed attempt to cap the Macondo well.
