Heartwarming Rescue of Baby Elephant Caught on Film

It is said that elephants never forget -- and, if that's true, the kindness shown towards one imperiled young elephant will surely be preserved in memory for decades to come. Earlier this week, the good folks at Kenya's Amboseli Trust for Elephants received word that an 8-month old calf had fallen inside a shallow well and was unable to get out, despite the best efforts of its frantic mother. So, in classic heroic style, Trust conservationist Vicki Fishlock and her team hurried to helpless animal's aid, pulling it to safety with ropes. "We rescued this young eight months old calf early this week," reports the Trust's website . "Luckily the report came in early in the morning and we were able to get there quick before the mother was forced to leave by herders arriving to water their cattle. It was a happy ending as we were able to reunite the calf with her mother, Zombe." A...
