New Anti-Obesity Housing Unveiled in New York

The message is being heard loud and clear. Obesity is out of control and we have to do something about it. New York City has been leading the charge to get America healthy. They started off with one of the first city-wide smoking bans in 2003, then they banned the purchase of sugar sweetened beverages with food stamps , and now the Bronx will be home to anti-obesity affordable housing. According to WFUV : "The Melody" stands on land that was once owned by the City of New York and was developed under Mayor Bloomberg's New Housing Marketplace Plan. It's on a brownfield site and has initiatives to keep its residents healthy. There are indoor and outdoor fitness centers, a children's climbing and play area, and a slow moving elevator.
