Get your school involved now in the DOE's latest Home Energy Challenge - $200K up for grabs!

The Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu recently announced the federal government’s new Home Energy Education Challenge, which seeks to teach third through eighth-grade students about energy use and conservation. With a new environmental education initiative, America’s Home Energy Education Challenge , the federal government aims to motivate students to take an active role in saving energy at home, as well as inspire them to pursue studies in science, technology and math. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and administered by the National Science Teachers Association, the competition will award more than $200,000 in prizes to schools with high participation rates, energy savings and creativity. The education initiative’s Home Energy Challenge requires students in grades 3-8 to carry out energy-savings actions in their homes. ...
