Constance Marie keeps 'Switched at Birth' set eco-friendly

In the series, she plays mother to a deaf teenage daughter (Katie Leclerc ) but discovers that the girl was inadvertently switched with another baby in the hospital. She's working class, and the couple raising her birth daughter (Vanessa Marano) is wealthy. Conflicts arise on many levels. "It's about family and mothers and daughters and relationships, racial differences and social differences, ethnic differences and financial differences," says Marie. "And at the core of it is family love. It's so heartfelt and so wonderful. We have funny moments too. It's the whole shebang."
