Beautiful Bridge in Bali Constructed Entirely With Bamboo In Four Months (Video)
Bamboo has long been used in Asia as a durable, strong and affordable building material that can potentially stand up better than modern materials (like concrete) in earthquakes, and has a tensile strength comparable to steel. Founded in 2008, Bali's Green School is an international, holistic learning center for sustainable living that brings together students locally and from all over the world on a 20-acre campus that boasts 75 bamboo-based buildings that run on solar, micro-hydropower and bio-diesel. The school recently completed an impressive bamboo bridge linking the school's facilities together, as seen in this time-lapse video.
