Food prices will more than double over the next 20 years, unleashing a "wholesale reversal in human development" if concerted global action is not taken to address climate change, failing biofuels policies, and stalling growth in agricultural yields. This is the stark conclusion of a new Oxfam-backed report, Growing a Better Future , which outlines the charity's fears for the world's poorest people who currently spend as much as 80 per cent of their income on food.
