As usual, Robert P, your understanding of what happened in Spain comes right out of Fox News's Fantasyland and your own colon. Spain had a balanced budget, because the Spanish people pay much higher taxes than do the American people. If you paid $300, in advance, for a hotel room and when you went to check in, they told you you had to sleep in the lobby because someone mort important had your room, and there would be no refund, you'd take to the streets too. Spain's problems stem from a speculative housing/hotel/resort/airport bubble. If you think ordinary people are behind ANY of those, you're even stupider than I think you are. The big Spanish banks, and a lot of German ones too, made bad bets on building up the country's holiday properties, and housing for the booming construction industry - the whole thing looks very much like what happened in two of our vacation desti...
