How speculation increases gas prices for families

In spite of the title, this post does not show “how speculation increases gas prices.” The $50 Million scam mentioned above concerned manipulation of the futures market — the perpetrators scammed other speculators, not families. As Joe Romm himself has said multiple times, speculation doesn’t really have much effect on gas prices. I wish Climate Progress would stick to climate issues. Please note, I do not speculate in oil any other commodity.
