Green Bank looks set to fund everything - apart from solar

The government's Green Investment Bank looks set to have a far wider investment remit than had been initally expected, according to documents released today by the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). The initial stages will see the bank lend to projects in the wind, energy efficiency and waste sectors, along with investments in transmission networks. But beyond 2015 the body established to help develop build green infrastructure could be investing in a host of climate-related technologies, including new rolling stock for trains, nuclear power plants, or even flood defences.
