Bill To Ban BPA Passes In California State Assembly:

The California State Assembly is on a roll this week. Yesterday, it was announced that the legislative body had passed a ban on the import, sale and distribution of shark fins , and now it seems they've taken the same no-nonsense approach with the popular chemical Bisphenol-A (BPA). The Toxin-Free Infants and Toddlers Act would "prohibit the manufacture, sale, or distribution of the above products designed for children 3 and younger that contain more than 0.1 parts per billion (ppb) of BPA" on and after July 1, 2013. BPA is found in many products designed for use or consumption by children including bottles, sippy-cups, baby food and formula. BPA is also found in cash register receipts and canned foods .
