Protests have taken place on both sides of the Atlantic to mark the Annual General Meeting of German chemical giant Bayer. Friends of the Earth activists visited Bayer UK headquarters to raise concerns about the impact of some of Bayer's pesticides on bees, and the company's attempts to block restrictions on their use. Demonstrations also took place in Canada, US (main image and below and Germany (where the AGM took place). Bayer sued Friends of the Earth, and lost In 2013 Bayer sued Friends of the Earth Germany (known as BUND) when BUND claimed that one of its pesticides harm bees. Bayer lost the case, and the judge found that BUND had a right to speak out.
