Woodland Trust calls for government-backed #carbon scheme to grow more trees

The Woodland Trust is urging the government to create a carbon scheme for businesses and individuals to invest in planting more trees, after an independent panel yesterday reopened the debate on the future of England's forests. Sue Holden, chief executive of the Woodland Trust and member of the newly created Independent Panel on Forestry, yesterday urged people to back the organisation's forestry manifesto , proposing ways for the government to help protect and expand England's wooded areas.
