Further proving that politics makes strange bedfellows, the National Right to Life PAC spent nearly $16,000 this week on radio ads on behalf of Jane L. Corwin, the Republican congressional candidate who says she supports legal abortion in the first trimester. “Jane Corwin is the only candidate who consistently opposes using taxpayer funds to pay for abortion,” the pro-life PAC said in a statement. “Jane Corwin also opposes the pro-abortion, pro-rationing Obama health care law and will vote to repeal it.” In contrast, Jack Davis, the Tea Party candidate, has taken conflicting positions on the abortion issue, the political action committee said, while Kathleen C. Hochul, the Democrat in the race, clearly is pro-choice and has the support of groups that back legal abortion.
