Flooding Update 25 September

Statement on current flooding situation-

Vincent Fitzsimons, Hydrology Duty Manager of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), said: “Heavy and persistent rain is predicted for South East Scotland this morning, which will then move North, towards the Inverness area, for the latter part of the day where it will remain overnight before gradually easing off. The early rainfall has caused local cases of river flooding in South East Scotland, across East Lothian, Berwickshire and Peebleshire. “There are currently six flood alerts and ten flood warnings in force. Haddington is of most concern at present, and SEPA is working closely with emergency responders in this area. Areas around Rommano Bridge, Peebles, Greenlaw, Shiplaw and Stow also have flood warnings in force.
