Oregon Kicks 2016 Off by Allowing Over-the-Counter Birth Control

Let’s be honest for a moment. 2015 wasn’t that great for women here in the U.S.: We got to witness some horrible ads reminding us that rape culture is alive and well. And Vanity Fair tried to tell us that only men are funny. Yes, the women’s U.S. soccer team became the Women’s World Cup champions… but then we found out they got paid 40 times less than the U.S. men’s team (which, at the time, was ranked 27th in their league). Then to round out the year, the Untied Nations gave the United States a failing grade regarding women’s rights and gender equality. Luckily, Oregon is starting 2016 off right by making a huge move toward reproductive rights and making birth control more accessible for women.
