Shock news: The Chancellor has done something the renewables industry likes!

He may not have enamoured himself to the renewable energy industry in recent months, but Chancellor George Osborne's latest commitment to streamline planning rules in order to deliver faster decisions for proposed infrastructure projects has today been welcomed by the sector. Speaking on the BBC's Andrew Marr Show at the weekend, Osborne confirmed the government would look once again at the controversial topic of planning reforms with a view to shortening the amount of time many infrastructure projects have to wait for planning decisions.
