Vintage ads want you to eat vitamin donuts, put babies in cellophane, and spray everything with DDT

In 50 years or so, people are going to look at advertising of our time period with horror. “My god,” they’ll say, “did they really drink diet soda? Did they really put cell phones near their HEADS? And what’s a ‘car insurance’?” But I don’t think anything from our time period, besides possibly the Double Down, will cause as much consternation in the future as these vintage ads do now. Collectors Weekly found these ads, and they have a longer list , but there were a few we just had to draw attention to. (Click to embiggen.) DDT is the best for cows and chickens and horrible anthropomorphic apple-creatures! Donuts are an excellent source of vitamins. Cellophane is TOTALLY a toy, and you should put your babies inside of it as quickly as possible.
