Natural disasters, such as earthquakes, droughts and tsunamis, are costing Unilever €300m a year, Paul Polman, chief executive of the consumer goods giant, has revealed, as he warned that businesses can no longer ignore the impacts of rising temperatures. In an interview with BusinessGreen ahead of the United Nations climate change summit kicking off in Paris today, Polman said an ambitious deal at the end of the conference would send a strong signal to businesses to invest in low carbon measures.
