Oppose Legalized Ivory Sales

Okay, who are the 2% who voted "NO"? I have a "piece" of very old ivory and it means a lot to me, but it's obtained from a source that was probably very legal back "when". I refuse to buy anything said to be ivory now. I guess I could accept that if an elephant dies of natural causes, then if the tusks can be made into sellable objects, that's fine and good for the locals' economy. However, there needs to be rules and restrictions in place. The source of said ivory must be documented and made under supervised means. I really don't know how this can be done...........ie., regulated, but there surely can be a way to satisfy the need for something "genuine ivory" legally and without killing living elephants. I mean, they die naturally all the time, so it seems logical to me that when that happens, then there can be means to harvest the remains that are valuable to humans and ...
