Super-freaky train station design looks like a spider laying eggs

I went to Vienna earlier this year, and it’s extremely charming and deeply concerned with coffee and cake, both of which I appreciate. But I confess that as I wandered the streets, looking up at graceful churches and palaces, I often thought “what a shame it is that none of these buildings look like a nightmare structure of bare twigs and spider egg sacs.” This proposed structure for the Westbanhof train station, by designer Shahira Hammad , would solve that problem handily. From ground level, it looks like a sort of mutant pregnant insect. From a bird’s-eye view, it looks like that insect deposited its egg sacs in some leaf mold. Even the inside is infested: This certainly seems like the perfect approach if Vienna is tired of being known as a beautiful, cultured, historic city with a useful and efficient public transit system, and would like instead to be known as a beaut...
