There is an infinite number of ways you can cover a lampshade with corks, visually speaking. The important part is planning ahead to ensure that you have enough supplies to cover your entire area. For the particular size and shape I had, four corks fit almost perfectly when placed vertically up the height of the shade. After this base number was established, I circled the bottom of the lampshade with the corks as shown in the photo. Once I counted how many corks it took to do that, I multiplied that number by the cork height (4), which gave me an approximate number for how many I needed to cover the whole thing. I discovered I was short by about 10 corks, but was gifted this missing number very shortly after.
