A majority of Americans - likely increasing - want pols to act on climate change:

Yale Project on Climate Change Communication A vast majority of Americans polled say they believe that the United States should make an effort to reduce global warming. But they differ on how the potential economic costs should dictate the country’s response. Ever since comprehensive legislation to reduce greenhouse gases died in Congress two years ago, my colleague John Broder noted here recently, climate change has been the issue that national politicians seem to avoid at all costs. Supporting renewable energy? Fine. Advocating energy independence? Great. Calling for action on global warming? Not so much. A closer look at big issues facing the country in the 2012 Election.
