Accident figures should ring alarm bells in government Issued on: Thursday 16 August, 2012 Responding to the Department for Transport's announcement of another increase of cycling casualties on our roads, Jason Torrance, Policy Director at Sustrans, said: "These accident rates should ring another alarm bell at the top of government. "Our Olympic success is no doubt going to inspire more of us to get out on two wheels. The government must prioritise making our roads safe for the most vulnerable users, or we risk making cycling seem too dangerous for everyday travel."
