It’s a pleasure to welcome you all to today’s Global Business Summit on Energy. One of a series of events, all timed to coincide with the Olympic Games, the biggest international business conference we have ever held. Our aim today is to look at what more we can do together, to advance clean, smart energy generation, boosting our shared prosperity, as well as building a more resilient economy, better able to withstand future shocks. The UK is already the sixth largest market in low carbon and environmental goods and services. We lead the world in offshore wind – our total installed capacity is as much as the rest of the world put together.
