About Big Star: Among other green initiatives, Big Star Denim uses OZONE TECHNOLOGY as a drying process. This produces a cleaner finish and uses no water during its cycle. Normally, jeans are rinsed with excessive amounts of water to get rid of excess indigo, and chemicals are applied to fade the jean and clean up indigo bleeds. The ozone acts as a bleach to disinfect the garment and reduce indigo backwash, dramatically reducing water consumption, as well as energy and chemical usage.
