Building the Next Generation of Sustainable Solutions

What turns a good green idea into a sustainable solution? That was the theme for the Foster Idea Lab , an inaugural half-day seminar sponsored by the University of Washington Foster MBA program on April 8 in Seattle. Professionals from Starbucks, Microsoft, Boeing, REI and other companies participated in a round table discussion to brainstorm solutions for the next generation of sustainability. MBA students facilitated the discussion across six topics: • Value of associating your brand with sustainability • Challenges and success of integrating sustainability into your organization • Best practices in product life cycle management • Sustainable supply chain • Internal resource management • Getting the most out of partnerships.
