Uh Oh! No Government is Prepared for Peak Oil Says IEA Chief Economist (Again)

Fatih Birol, Chief Economist of the International Energy Agency, has warned before that peak oil is almost upon us , and that time is not on our side for transitioning away from fossil fuel dependence. Now he's speaking out on the subject again, this time on Australia's ABC radio's Science Show in an episode all about peak oil . In an episode also featuring Solarcentury CEO and pioneer of the UK-based Peak Oil Task Force Jeremy Leggett, Birol warns again that peak oil may hit as early as 2014, and that there is absolutely no government that is prepared for what lies ahead. Fascinating, terrifying stuff.
