In 2011 the number of transactions in the renewable energy sector grew 90% against 2010, to US$6.8 billion from US$3.2 billion, according to a survey conducted by PwC. The number of transactions in the alternative energy sector grew 40% between 2010 and 2011, from US$38.2 billion to a record high US$53.5 billion.
