Adopting An Animal Could Save Your Life, Too | Care2 Causes

Ten years ago I rescued Toby (a mix with a bit of doberman and a bit of lots of other things) who was running literally wild on the road, injured and starving. It took me weeks to get him to trust me and accept my food but gradually he spent longer and longer in the yard and eventually stayed. He was always quirky and hyper and for the first couple of years wouldn't allow me to take a picture as he thought the flash was a weapon coming at him. Sadly a month ago I had to put him down as he had a cancerous growth on his jaw that was inoperable. I miss him but I'm grateful for the company and the love he gave over the time he was with me. He was one of many rescues. I would never BUY a dog.
